Freckles King Pickens (Q-25979) is by the mighty Slim Pickens out of a Mr. Freckles Boy (imp) mare. “Pickle”, as he is affectionately known, is from the traditional bloodlines that made the QH famous and consequently his temperament & trainability attributes are second to none.

He has the sort of breeding that is becoming scarce. He carries no Doc Bar blood & therefore is an excellent outcross for closely bred mares. Often referred to as a “stopping machine” Pickle throws this in his progeny, which are showing very well in the reining arena and producing excellent, user-friendly horses.

A lot of people go for a more “exciting” dynamic bred horse but there is a great call for the honest and versatile “pull him out of the stable & go show him” type of horse.
